Child, 3 Adults Hospitalized After Weekend Crash In Western Mass: Police

Four people were sent to the hospital on Sunday, March 19, following a head-on collision in Springfield, including a child, officials said.

The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. when two cars collided near 194 Island Pond Road, the Springfield Fire Department said in a tweet.

The driver of one vehicle and the driver, a female passenger, and a child in the backseat were all taken to the Bay State Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. Police did not release their names. The female passenger had to be cut from the car.

Springfield police are investigating the crash, but no charges or fines have been issued in the incident, authorities said.
